Modelling The Hemodynamics of Coronary Ischemia

چکیده
Acting upon clinical patient data, acquired in the pathway of percutaneous intervention, we deploy hierarchical, multi-stage, data-handling protocols and interacting low- high-order mathematical models (chamber elastance, state-space system CFD models), to establish then validate a framework quantify burden ischaemia. Our core tool is compartmental, zero-dimensional model coupled circulation with four heart chambers, systemic pulmonary circulations an optimally adapted windkessel coronary arteries that reflects diastolic dominance flow. We guide parallel development by appealing foundational physiological principles cardiac energetics parameterisation (stenotic Bernoulli resistance micro-vascular resistance) patients’ our process first results which substantiate and, second, demonstrate good correspondence between operation data. conclude capable representing (patho)physiological states discuss how it can potentially be deployed, on provide quantitative assessment impact, individual, artery disease.

Complex Coronary Hemodynamics - Simple Analog Modelling as an Educational Tool
OBJECTIVE Invasive coronary angiography remains the cornerstone for evaluation of coronary stenoses despite there being a poor correlation between luminal loss assessment by coronary luminography and myocardial ischemia. This is especially true for coronary lesions deemed moderate by visual assessment. Coronary pressure-derived fractional flow reserve (FFR) has emerged as the gold standard for ...
متن کاملEffects of pharmacologically-induced hypertension on myocardial ischemia and coronary hemodynamics in patients with fixed coronary obstruction.
Twenty patients with fixed coronary artery obstruction were studied during rapid atrial pacing and methoxamine infusion. During pacing to heart rates of 142 +/- 4 (mean +/- SEM) beats per minute coronary sinus flow increased from 108 +/- 8 to 187 +/- 15 cc/min and myocardial oxygen consumption increased by + 80 +/- 11%. During methoxamine infusion that raised arterial systolic pressure to 196 +...
متن کاملModelling, analysis and calculation of cerebral hemodynamics
Mathematical models of cerebral hemodynamics, applicable to humans and rats have been developed and analysed with the purpose of reaching a deeper insight to which degree experimental results on rats can be extrapolated to humans and to clinical management of patients. These models include regulation mechanisms involving the small cerebral arteries and arterioles, flow autoregulation, as well a...
متن کاملCoronary Arterial Diameter and Coronary Hemodynamics in Humans
Effects of H1-receptor stimulation on coronary arterial diameter and coronary hemodynamics were examined in 11 patients with angiographically normal coronary arteries and without variant angina or resting angina. Selective H1-receptor stimulation was achieved by infusing histamine into the left coronary artery at a rate of 2.0 1£g/min for 5 minutes after pretreatment with cimetidine (25 mg/kg)....
متن کاملHemodynamics analysis of the serial stenotic coronary arteries
Coronary arterial stenoses, particularly serial stenoses in a single branch, are responsible for complex hemodynamic properties of the coronary arterial trees, and the uncertain prognosis of invasive intervention. Critical information of the blood flow redistribution in the stenotic arterial segments is required for the adequate treatment planning. Therefore, in this study, an image based non-i...
